The Hollywood Sign is more than just 9 white letters spelling out a city’s name. It’s one of the world’s most evocative symbols, a dazzling place, movie studios, movie stars and a dream that we call H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D.
I just got lucky during my visit to LA as Oscars were held the following day. for once in my lifetime, I got a chance to walk on the red carpet which was getting laid down that day. We also went inside the Kodak Theatre, where the Oscars are held each year. The 'Walk of Fame' is great. The names of Hollywood celebrities are engraved in Gold stars on the side walk on both sides of the Hollywood Blvd. Don't forget to get a picture clicked with the Hollywood sign in the background, it comes out really well. Parking in Hollywood Blvd is a pain and its expensive too, so I would suggest you to take a hotel near the Hollywood Blvd as all the attractions are there itself.
Walking on the Hollywood Blvd is fun. You can visit Madame Tussaud's, Chinese Grauman Theater and more. A short walk away are more of the familiar attractions, such as the Hollywood Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe it or Not.
Los Angeles has some great entertainment parks- Universal Studios, Sea World and Disneyland. These parks are awesome and whatever time you have for them would be less.
How can I forget Rodeo drive and Beverly Hills? It is a shopping area known for fashion boutiques. The name generally refers to a three-block long stretch of boutique shops but the street stretches further north and south. Rodeo Drive is frequented by tourists and celebrities who seldom hand around there. So who knows you may be lucky enough to see Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise or someone you like. So, keep your fingers crossed :)
LA has some good beaches like the Santa Monica, Malibu, Venice beach etc. I didn't get a chance to chill out at the beach as I had my flight back to NY the next day. But do not miss the chance of going to these star-hugged beaches, who knows you may get to see Anne Hathaway or Jennifer Aniston sun-bathing on these beaches.
