Things to do in the Las Vegas besides gambling

Do you like gambling? If yes, then Vegas is the place for you. If you don't, then Vegas is still a fun place for you. Vegas was the first place I visited when I landed in the US, or should I stay the most vibrant place. I always dreamt of going to Vegas to enjoy what the SIN CITY has to offer. And to be honest this city never disappoints anyone.

I was in Vegas for 4 days and each day was well spent. There are a lot of fun activities for non-gamblers like me.

Go for a ride- there are thrill rides at the top of Stratosphere. The roller coaster ride in New York casino is fun as well. The Gondola ride in Venetian is good. Our gondolier sang some Roman song for us which made it even more romantic. Don't miss out on the famous Limo ride on the Vegas strip.

Enjoy the different themes in these casinosMy favorite casino is Venetian, I love the themed decor there. You could buy Venetian masks as souvenirs, I bought a couple of them too and they look beautiful. You could easily spend the whole day in Venetian, its so huge and beautiful. New York and Paris are other themed casinos to visit. Luxor has an exhibition and show on Titanic.

Watch shows- Shows in Vegas are a bit pricey. But there are some shows for free too like the Pirates show at Treasure Island at 5.00pm every day. There are 5 different Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas, but I would highly recommend watching Cirque du Soleil "O" at Bellagio or 'Ka' at MGM Grand. We watched 'O' which is an exquisite aquatic performance uniquely presented by olympic level acrobats and this show is unbelievably awesome. You will not think of blinking your eyes even once. It is that good. The Blue Man Show is good too. Funny, thrilling or enchanting, Vegas shows are a must-see when you’re in town. Tickets can be pricey but it’s worth watching, so be sure to reserve the best seats you can afford. You’ll find comedy, popular artists, carnival-style shows, magic, exotic, dinner-mystery, cabaret, musical and many other performances.

Do something romanticWatch the musical Bellagio fountain show at night, it looks so lively and refreshing, or take a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris. The night glare and the crowd makes Vegas what I consider a romantic place, you can carve out your moments with a little creativity. You can also book a spa in one of the casinos if you'd like.

Take a day trip- There are many things to do near Las Vegas and it is great to get off the Strip and explore the incredible nature of the surrounding region. There are helicopter tours to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam and for aerial views of the Vegas Strip.

Go for some adventure- Vegas seems like a natural place for adventure enthusiasts. Luckily there are activities like the Sky-jump from the Stratosphere, zip-lining and skydiving.

All in all, Vegas is a must visit place for those who haven't visited even once. The famous line about Vegas which I like is "Whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas".

Some Recommendations

Parking in Vegas is expensive. Usually people park in the self-parking space in the casinos. One thing that you could do is to go for valet parking in any casino for any number of hours and tip the person $3-5 or something. This is really convenient and makes life easy.

  1. Hi James, if you like adventure then you could go for skydiving, bungee jumping. Kids usually like Blue Man show and Mac King comedy show at Harrah's. Golf should be fun, I have never played though in Vegas. Have a good trip.
